Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last Updated: October 7, 2026

This policy explains exactly when refunds are available for our one-time website build fee and our monthly maintenance plans, how to cancel, and what happens if a payment is disputed. It forms part of our Terms of Service and, for clients, our Client Agreement.

1. Overview

Scale Up Digital charges two distinct types of fees: a one-time website build fee, and an ongoing monthly maintenance subscription. Each is refunded under different conditions, set out below. We invoice all fees directly, and refunds — where owed under this policy — are returned to the original payment method you used, at no cost to you. We aim to issue any approved refund within 5 business days of approving it.

2. One-Time Website Build Fee ($899)

2.1 Before you pay: you risk nothing. We build your preview free of charge and ask for no payment details to do it. If you decide not to proceed at any point before paying, you simply tell us, and you owe nothing. There is no fee to refund because no fee has been charged.

2.2 After you approve and pay. The $899 build fee is charged only after you have reviewed the completed preview and approved it in writing. Because the design and development work is already delivered at that point, the fee is non-refundable once paid, except as set out in 2.3 below.

2.3 If we fail to launch: full refund. If your approved site is not live on your domain within 10 US business days (Monday to Friday, excluding US federal holidays) of your payment arriving, for reasons within our control, you may request a full refund of the $899 build fee and we will issue it. Days spent waiting on you — for content, approvals, or access to your domain — do not count toward the 10 days. "Live" means anyone can open the site on your domain and its quote form delivers to your email.

3. Monthly Subscription Plans ($149 Standard / $199 Growth)

3.1 Cancel anytime. You may cancel your monthly plan at any time, with no long-term contract and no cancellation fee.

3.2 Effective date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You will retain access to your plan's features through the end of the period you've already paid for. After that, your site goes offline unless it has already become yours (after 12 paid monthly invoices, or for a one-time $899) — see sections 6 and 9 of our Client Agreement. Your domain always stays yours.

3.3 No partial refunds. We do not provide prorated or partial refunds for any unused portion of a billing cycle. If you cancel mid-cycle, your plan remains active until the cycle ends, with no further charges afterward.

3.4 Upgrading or downgrading. You may switch between the Standard ($149) and Growth ($199) plans at any time; the new rate applies from your next billing cycle.

4. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

To request a refund or cancel your subscription, email youssef@scale-updigital.com with your business name and the email address on your invoice. We aim to respond to all refund and cancellation requests within 2 business days.

5. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you have a billing concern, please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Most billing issues can be resolved directly and faster than a formal dispute. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in immediate suspension of your website and services while the dispute is investigated, and we reserve the right to submit evidence of service delivery (including delivery timestamps, correspondence, and site analytics) to your bank or card issuer to contest invalid disputes. Refunds owed under this policy will always be issued directly and do not require a chargeback.

6. Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable under any circumstance: work delivered and approved prior to a cancellation request; any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (such as premium stock assets or a domain registration fee, where applicable — the domain itself stays yours); and any billing cycle that has already fully elapsed at the time of a cancellation request.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Changes apply to purchases made after the update; they do not retroactively change the terms of a payment already made.
